You start your journey from the thermal town of Spa, which in itself is already worth a visit. You take line 44A which takes you on a continuous slope, but in the shade of the trees, to the highest point of Hockai (altitude: 550m). Beyond this ridge, you will have to let yourself go down to Stavelot and Malmedy, towns rich in tradition. Cathedral, abbey, monastery, museums and kiosks will delight art and history lovers.

You then cross the beautiful Warchenne valley to Waimes a town offering a number of breweries and restaurants for a break. The day ends in Bütgenbach with its famous lake. This village, looking like a seaside resort, has unspoilt nature, large forests, vast green areas, beautiful hedgerows and numerous nature reserves. From Bütgenbach to Sourbrodt, there is no shortage of places to stay overnight.

The next day the journey through the fens begins in earnest. From Sourbrodt onwards, you pass through or along the Rurhof bog, which is almost 4 metres thick, the Roer Fens, which has forced the RAVeL to make a little diversion because of the presence of an endangered bird species, Then comes the Schwarzes Venn and the Walloon Fens, where you should not miss the viewpoint. The sequence of countryside areas then continues with the Fagne Cléfaye, the Platten Venn and the Allgemeines Venn to finally end up at the Vesdre dam.
