Between Meuse and Geer
Starting from Hermalle-sous-Argenteau, you will reach the Albert canal and the Gravière Brock site. You will then reach unique areas that have been shaped by industrial infrastructure linked, in particular, to the trilogiport, the largest inland port in Belgium and the third largest in Europe!
After reaching Visé, you will pass a former quarry and pass through various villages in the region. Houtain-Saint-Siméon, Roclenge-sur-Geer, Wonck, and its caves to Eben-Emael and its famous fortress – the largest fortified area in Liège! – which was seized in May 1940 and... and is still open to visitors. Once you reach Lanaye, you will follow the locks, which form a junction between different canals close to the Dutch border. You will then return along the Meuse river.
