The Vesdre and the Getzbach
This 100% nature walk starts at the Eupen dam, where the Vesdre and Getzbach rivers meet. After skirting the lake and admiring its large expanses of water, you enter the forest, crossing the Vesdre at point-nœud 46 before contemplating the countryside of Brackvenn and Steinley, where the Vesdre rises. Don’t hesitate to stop off at La Maison Ternell and discover its museum, aromatic garden and adventure playground or simply enjoy its restaurant and pleasant terrace. You then head gradually down the Getzbach valley towards your starting point at the Vesdre dam, which boasts a gigantic and remarkable 63-metre-high concrete wall offering a vast panorama of the lake, the surrounding forests and the narrow Langesthal valley.
The Getzbach, Vesdre and Helle rivers supply the dam with drinking water, enabling it to provide Eupen, the Pays de Herve, the outskirts of Liège and the Domaine du Sart Tilman with drinking water.
Eat and drink: Wesertalsperre (dam brewery) and Haus Ternell
