Val-Dieu Grand-Cru
The bike tour starts at Val-Dieu Abbey, a monastery of Cistercian monks located in Aubel in Pays de Herve, which was founded around 1215. After a section full of greenery, you will head towards Battice and its fort, which were built between 1934 and 1937 and are also open to visitors. You will then arrive in the village of Thimister, where the first Belgian soldier died during World War I; then Clermont-sur-Berwinne, one of the 'Most beautiful villages in Wallonia.' After significant effort, you will head towards the Abbey, where solace awaits in the form of a beer brewed on-site.
