To the sources of the Geer
Meet at Landen station for the start of this tour. Thanks to the RAVeL of line 127, you will reach Hannut and then Lens-Saint-Remy where the Geer river has its source. This village is known for its old beguinage (Carmel). Founded in 1343 and rebuilt in 1715, it is of architectural and historical interest.
The walk continues along the Geer where you will contemplate the site of the former basins of the "Râperie de Hollogne", built to decant the washing water from the sugar beets. The sixteen ponds now form a mosaic and are a site of great biological interest.
After passing through the Hexapoda garden, which is specially designed to attract a multitude of foraging insects, you will reach the Waremme railway station. There you can take a train to Landen if you wish to return to your starting point.
